Rankids Terms of Use
1. Acceptance
By downloading or using Rankids, creating an account, starting a trial, or subscribing to a plan, you accept these Terms, the Privacy Policy and, where applicable, the terms of Apple App Store or Google Play.
If you do not agree, you must not create an account or use the service.
The person who creates or manages a family confirms that they are an adult with sufficient legal capacity to contract and manage the family account.
2. What Rankids is
Rankids is a family organization tool that allows, among other features:
- Creating an account and a family.
- Creating profiles for adults and minors.
- Assigning, completing, approving, or rejecting tasks.
- Awarding and adjusting points.
- Creating non-monetary family rewards.
- Requesting and approving redemptions.
- Reviewing progress and history.
- Accessing free or premium features.
- Contacting support.
Rankids helps organize household routines. It does not replace adult supervision or professional services, and it does not guarantee educational, psychological, or behavioral outcomes.
3. Adult account
The main account must be created by an adult. The adult is responsible for:
- Keeping the account secure.
- Creating child profiles only when authorized.
- Entering appropriate and minimal data.
- Deciding tasks and rewards.
- Supervising children's use of the app.
- Protecting the adult area and PIN.
The adult may edit or delete child profiles in the app and exercise the rights described in the Privacy Policy.
4. Child profiles
Minors may not create adult accounts or provide their own contact details to register.
Child profiles are profiles subordinate to the family account, not independent accounts. The adult decides which tasks, points, rewards, and content are appropriate for each minor.
Rankids only needs basic data such as name or nickname, age, avatar, and activity inside the app.
The adult should avoid entering unnecessary, sensitive, or excessive information about a minor.
5. Acceptable use
You must not use Rankids to:
- Create tasks that are dangerous, illegal, abusive, humiliating, or inappropriate for the child's age.
- Threaten, coerce, punish in a degrading manner, or harm a minor.
- Enter illegal, discriminatory, defamatory, sexual, violent, or offensive content.
- Collect or disclose third-party data without authorization.
- Access or attempt to access accounts, families, systems, or data belonging to others.
- Bypass security controls, perform unauthorized reverse engineering, or interfere with the service.
- Introduce malware, automate abusive access, or overload the infrastructure.
- Copy, resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit Rankids without written authorization.
We may limit, suspend, or terminate access when there is a breach, fraud, risk to minors, security threat, or legal obligation. Where reasonable and legally possible, we will inform you of the measure and provide a contact channel.
6. Points, achievements, and rewards
Rankids points, medals, and achievements:
- Are not money, salary, credit, debt, digital assets, or virtual currency.
- Have no value outside Rankids.
- Cannot be sold, transferred, or redeemed for money from Rankids.
- Do not create employment, financial, or tax obligations for Rankids.
Rewards are private agreements defined and managed by the family. Rankids does not provide those rewards, does not verify their suitability, and does not guarantee that they will be fulfilled.
The adult must ensure that any reward is legal, safe, age-appropriate, and consistent with the minor's wellbeing.
7. Free plan, trials, and subscriptions
Rankids may offer a free plan, promotional trials, and premium subscriptions. The current features, limits, duration, and prices will be shown before purchase and may vary by country, platform, or promotion.
7.1. Billing and renewal
When the subscription is purchased from the app:
- Payment will be charged to the Apple or Google account used to confirm the purchase.
- The subscription will renew automatically for successive periods, unless cancelled before the deadline indicated by the store.
- The price, currency, billing period, applicable taxes, and plan content will be shown before confirmation.
- Apple or Google may manage billing, renewal, receipts, taxes, and payment methods.
7.2. Free or discounted trials
When a trial is available:
- The duration and subsequent price will be shown before starting it.
- Unless otherwise stated, it will convert into a paid subscription at the end if it is not cancelled in time.
- Eligibility may be limited to new subscribers or to one trial per account or family.
- The unused portion of a trial may be lost when subscribing to another plan, according to the store rules.
7.3. Cancellation
You can cancel from Apple App Store or Google Play subscription management. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the already paid period, unless the store or applicable law provides otherwise.
Deleting the app or the Rankids account does not automatically cancel a subscription managed by Apple or Google. You must also cancel it in the corresponding store.
7.4. Refunds and price changes
Refunds are processed according to the store rules and mandatory consumer rights. Rankids cannot directly approve refunds that only Apple or Google can manage.
If the renewal price changes, you will receive the notice and acceptance request required by the store or applicable law.
7.5. Restoring purchases
Where applicable, Rankids will provide a feature to restore purchases linked to the same store account. Restoring a purchase does not automatically transfer it to another Apple, Google, or Rankids account.
8. Family-created content
The family keeps the rights it may have over the names, tasks, rewards, notes, and other text it enters.
By submitting content to Rankids, you grant the owner a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host it, technically reproduce it, synchronize it, transform it when necessary for display, and process it only to:
- Provide and maintain the service.
- Synchronize devices and profiles.
- Resolve support issues.
- Prevent fraud or abuse.
- Comply with legal obligations.
This license ends when the content is deleted from active systems, except for temporary backups or limited legal retention.
You are responsible for having the necessary rights and authorizations over the content you enter.
9. Privacy
Data processing is governed by the Rankids Privacy Policy. Creating an account does not imply consent to optional processing that must be authorized separately.
The adult is responsible for reviewing the notices relating to child profiles and completing the required authorizations.
10. Account and data deletion
You can start deletion from:
- The app: Settings > Account > Privacy and account > Delete account and data.
- Email: account@rankids.app.
Deletion of the family account may irreversibly delete the associated profiles, tasks, points, rewards, and history. We may retain limited information when legally necessary, according to the Privacy Policy and the Account and Data Deletion page.
If the account has an active subscription, Rankids will show or provide information on how to cancel it, but account deletion by itself does not cancel external billing.
11. Intellectual property
Rankids, its software, brand, name, logos, design, illustrations, avatars, text, databases, documentation, and other proprietary elements belong to the owner or its licensors and are protected by applicable law.
You are granted a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-sublicensable, and non-transferable license to install and use the app on devices you own or control, exclusively for family purposes and according to these Terms.
No rights are granted over the Rankids brand or source code, except for non-waivable rights provided by law.
12. Updates, changes, and availability
We may update the app to fix errors, improve security, adapt the service to legal changes, or introduce, modify, or remove features.
We do not guarantee that:
- The service will be available without interruption.
- It will remain permanently compatible with all devices or older versions.
- It will be error-free.
- An experimental or promotional feature will continue indefinitely.
When an update is necessary to maintain security or functionality, certain older versions may no longer be supported.
Rankids may modify, suspend, or remove features for technical, legal, commercial, or security reasons.
13. Educational notice
Rankids does not provide medical, psychological, professional pedagogical, legal, financial, or child-protection advice.
Decisions about tasks, points, rewards, limits, and consequences correspond to the responsible adult, who must consider the child's age, maturity, health, abilities, and circumstances.
If you have questions about behavior, development, mental health, educational needs, or family wellbeing, consult a qualified professional.
14. Limitation of liability
Rankids is provided with the level of diligence required by applicable law. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we do not guarantee specific educational or behavioral outcomes.
To the extent permitted by law, Rankids will not be responsible for:
- Family decisions made using the app.
- Rewards not provided by the family.
- Conflicts between family members.
- Misuse of tasks or points.
- Lack of educational or behavioral results.
- Temporary interruptions or errors.
Nothing in these Terms limits non-waivable consumer rights.
15. App Store and Google Play
If you download Rankids from Apple App Store or Google Play, the rules of the corresponding store also apply. Apple and Google are not responsible for Rankids or its content.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may modify these Terms to reflect legal, technical, provider, plan, or feature changes.
The current version will be published in the app and on the website. If a change is material, we will notify you by a reasonable means before it takes effect when required by law. If you do not accept a material change, you may stop using the service and delete your account.
17. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Paraguay. Any dispute arising from these Terms will be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Paraguay.
For users residing in the European Union: nothing in these Terms affects the rights that the consumer laws of your country of residence recognize as non-waivable.
