1. Summary

Rankids is a family app that helps an adult organize household tasks, points, and non-monetary rewards. The account is created and managed by an adult. Child profiles are created by the adult, and the child profile data requested by Rankids is limited: name or nickname, age, avatar/color, and activity generated inside Rankids, such as tasks, points, and rewards.

Rankids does not ask children for an email address, phone number, address, location, photos, contacts, school, payment details, or health data. Rankids does not sell personal data and does not use data for behavioral advertising or cross-app tracking.

2. Scope

This policy applies to the Rankids app, Rankids website, website forms, and support channels.

Rankids is designed for families. The main account must be created by an adult who can accept these terms and manage the family data.

3. Data we process

3.1 Adult account data

We process data needed to create and maintain the account:

Email address.
Password handled by Supabase Auth.
User identifier.
Session data needed to sign in and keep the account active.

Purpose: create the account, sign in, recover the password, protect the account, and link the account to a family.

3.2 Family data

We process:

Family name.
Family identifier.
Family plan, such as free, premium trial, or premium, if applicable.
Creation date.

Purpose: organize the family account and apply plan limits or features.

3.3 Adult profiles

We process:

Name or nickname.
Avatar and color.
Adult role.
Adult-area PIN, stored as a hash when configured.

Purpose: distinguish profiles, protect the adult area, and let authorized adults manage the family.

3.4 Child profiles

The adult creates child profiles. Rankids processes:

Name or nickname.
Age.
Avatar and color.
Assigned tasks.
Points.
Rewards.
Activity history inside Rankids.

Purpose: show tasks and rewards to the child profile, calculate points, and let the adult supervise family progress.

Rankids recommends using a first name, nickname, or initials, and avoiding unnecessary information such as full surnames, school, address, phone number, or sensitive data.

3.5 Tasks, rewards, and history

We process:

Tasks, descriptions, icons, points, and dates.
Rewards, point costs, and redemption requests.
Completed, approved, or rejected tasks.
Manual point adjustments and reasons.
Badges or achievements inside the app.

Purpose: provide the core Rankids functionality.

3.6 Support and suggestions

If you contact support, we process:

Contact email.
Type of request.
Message.
Account or family data needed to respond.

Purpose: answer questions, resolve issues, and improve Rankids.

3.7 Website and launch communications

If you use a website form, we may process:

Name, if provided.
Email address.
Form source.
Registration date.

Purpose: manage launch or Rankids-related communications.

3.8 First-party product analytics

Rankids may record internal product events, such as onboarding started or completed, first profile created, first task created, reward requested, paywall viewed, or trial started. These events may include a session identifier, platform, date, and basic event properties.

Purpose: understand whether the app works, improve onboarding, identify product issues, and measure key features. This is first-party analytics and is not intended for behavioral advertising or cross-app tracking.

4. Data we do not currently process

In the current version, Rankids is not designed to collect:

Location.
Photos or videos.
Camera data.
Microphone data.
Contacts.
External calendar data.
Health data.
Biometric data.
Bank card or payment card data.
Advertising identifiers for tracking.

If this changes, we will update this policy and the App Store and Google Play privacy declarations.

5. Legal bases

Depending on your country, legal bases may vary. In general, we process data to:

Provide the service requested by the adult.
Comply with legal obligations.
Keep the app secure.
Respond to support.
Improve the product through proportionate first-party analytics.
Manage consent where needed, especially for voluntary communications or applicable privacy rules.

6. Child profiles and adult control

Rankids does not let a child create an adult account. Child profiles are created and managed by the adult. The adult decides which name/nickname and age to enter, which tasks to assign, and which rewards to create.

Even when the data is limited, a child's name/nickname and age may be personal data relating to a minor. Rankids therefore handles it with proportionality, minimization, and adult control.

The adult can edit or delete child profiles in the app.

7. Providers

Rankids may use providers to operate the service:

Supabase: authentication, database, and account/family data storage.
Hosting or web form provider: landing page, website forms, or legal pages.
Apple App Store and Google Play: app distribution and, if enabled, purchases or subscriptions.

These providers may process data under their own terms and applicable agreements.

8. Data sharing

Rankids does not sell personal data.

We do not share data with advertising networks for tracking. We may share or provide access to data when needed to:

Provide the service through providers.
Comply with legal obligations.
Protect the security, rights, or integrity of the service.
Respond to a valid request from a competent authority.

9. Security

We apply reasonable safeguards:

Encrypted connection in transit.
Authentication through a specialized provider.
Family-based access control.
Row Level Security in Supabase.
Adult-area PIN when configured.
Data minimization for child profiles.

No system is completely secure. If we detect a relevant incident, we will act to mitigate it and notify where required by law.

10. Retention

We keep data while the family account is active or while needed to provide Rankids, respond to support, comply with legal obligations, resolve issues, or keep the service secure.

Indicative criteria:

Account and family: while the account is active.
Profiles, tasks, rewards, and history: while the family is active.
Support: as long as needed to respond and keep a reasonable issue record.
Launch communications: until no longer needed for launch communications or until consent is withdrawn.
First-party analytics: for a reasonable product improvement period.

Final periods: PENDING.

11. Account and data deletion

You can initiate or request deletion from:

App: Settings > Account > Privacy and account > Delete account and data.
Website: PENDING.
Email: PENDING.

When deletion is completed, Rankids will delete or anonymize the family account, profiles, tasks, rewards, history, and associated data, except information we must keep for legal obligations, security, fraud prevention, support, or claims.

12. Privacy rights

Depending on your country or region, you may have the right to:

Access your data.
Correct inaccurate data.
Request deletion.
Request portability.
Object to certain processing.
Restrict certain processing.
Withdraw consent where applicable.
Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.

13. Spain, EU, and UK users

If you are in Spain, the European Union, or the United Kingdom, you may have rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, and local laws. In Spain, when processing of children's data is based on consent, children under 14 require consent from parents or guardians.

Rankids is designed so that the adult creates the account and family profiles, reducing the need for the child to provide consent directly.

14. United States users

If Rankids is offered in the United States, COPPA may apply to services directed to children under 13 or that knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Rankids is designed for adults to create the account and child profiles, and does not request contact details from children.

Before launching or marketing Rankids in the United States, we should review whether the app is considered directed to children under 13 and whether verifiable parental consent or additional obligations apply.

15. Latin America users

Users in Latin America may have rights of access, rectification, cancellation/deletion, objection, update, information, or withdrawal of consent depending on the country.

You can exercise rights by contacting PENDING. If we launch specific operations in particular countries, we may add local information.

16. Purchases and subscriptions

If Rankids offers premium plans, trials, or subscriptions, digital purchases inside the app may be handled by Apple App Store or Google Play.

Rankids does not receive full payment card details. Subscription cancellation may need to be managed through Apple or Google. Deleting your Rankids account does not automatically cancel an external subscription unless expressly stated.

17. Changes

We may update this policy if the app, providers, laws, stores, or features change. We will publish the updated date and, if the change is material, try to notify users by reasonable means.

1. Acceptance

By downloading, creating an account, or using Rankids, you accept these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, you must not use the app.

If you create a family in Rankids, you confirm that you are an adult with authority to accept these Terms and manage the family account.

2. What Rankids is

Rankids is a family app for organizing household tasks, points, achievements, and non-monetary rewards.

The app lets you:

Create a family account.
Create adult and child profiles.
Assign tasks.
Award points for tasks.
Approve or reject tasks.
Create family rewards.
Request and approve redemptions.
Review progress and history.
Contact support.

Rankids is a family organization tool. It does not replace adult supervision and does not guarantee educational or behavioral outcomes.

3. Adult account

The account must be created by an adult. The adult is responsible for:

Keeping the account secure.
Creating child profiles only when authorized.
Entering appropriate and minimal data.
Deciding tasks and rewards.
Supervising children's use of the app.
Protecting the adult area and PIN.

Children must not create adult accounts or enter their own contact details.

4. Child profiles

Child profiles are created by the adult. Rankids only needs basic data such as name or nickname, age, avatar, and activity inside the app.

The adult should avoid entering unnecessary, sensitive, or excessive information about a child.

5. Acceptable use

You must not use Rankids to:

Harass, humiliate, or harm children.
Create dangerous, abusive, or inappropriate tasks.
Enter illegal, discriminatory, offensive, or inappropriate content.
Access data from other families.
Interfere with the security or operation of the app.
Copy, modify, resell, or exploit Rankids without authorization.

We may suspend or limit access if we detect abuse, fraud, risk to minors, legal non-compliance, or breach of these Terms.

6. Points and rewards

Rankids points are not money, virtual currency, or financial value. They have no value outside the app and cannot be redeemed for money from Rankids.

Rewards are private family agreements. Rankids does not provide rewards and does not guarantee that a family will fulfill them.

7. Plans, trials, and payments

Rankids may offer a free plan, premium trial, premium plan, purchases, or subscriptions.

If digital purchases or subscriptions are offered inside the app, they may be subject to Apple App Store or Google Play rules. Cancellations and refunds may need to be handled through the relevant store.

8. Family-created content

The adult may create tasks, rewards, names, reasons, messages, and other text. The family is responsible for that content.

By entering content, you authorize Rankids to store and process it as needed to provide the service, sync data, respond to support, maintain security, and comply with legal obligations.

9. Privacy

Data processing is governed by the Privacy Policy. By using Rankids, you accept that data is processed according to that policy.

10. Account and data deletion

You may request or initiate account and data deletion according to the Privacy Policy and Account and Data Deletion page.

Deletion may be irreversible. If you have an active subscription managed by Apple or Google, deleting the Rankids account does not automatically cancel it unless expressly stated.

11. Intellectual property

Rankids, its brand, logos, design, text, software, visual assets, and documentation belong to PENDING or its licensors.

You receive a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app according to these Terms.

12. Availability

We try to keep Rankids available and working properly, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, or permanent compatibility with all devices.

We may modify, suspend, or remove features for technical, legal, business, or security reasons.

13. Educational notice

Rankids does not provide medical, psychological, professional pedagogical, legal, or financial advice. Tasks and rewards should be decided by the responsible adult according to the child's age, maturity, and context.

14. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Rankids is not responsible for:

Family decisions made using the app.
Rewards not provided by the family.
Conflicts between family members.
Misuse of tasks or points.
Lack of educational or behavioral results.
Temporary interruptions or errors.

Nothing in these Terms limits non-waivable consumer rights.

15. App Store and Google Play

If you download Rankids from Apple App Store or Google Play, the relevant store rules also apply. Apple and Google are not responsible for Rankids or its content.

16. Changes

We may update these Terms. The new version will show the updated date. If the change is material, we will try to notify users by reasonable means.

1. Purpose

This page explains how to request deletion of your Rankids account and associated family data.

Apple requires apps with account creation to let users initiate account deletion inside the app. Google Play also requires an in-app path and a public web URL for deletion requests when the app allows account creation.

2. How to request deletion

You can request deletion through:

App: Settings > Account > Privacy and account > Delete account and data.

We may request reasonable verification to confirm that the request is made by the adult responsible for the family account.

3. What is deleted

When deletion is completed, Rankids will delete or anonymize, as applicable:

Rankids account.
Family account.
Adult profiles.
Child profiles.
Child profile name/nickname and age.
Avatars and settings.
Tasks, rewards, points, and history.
Redemptions and point adjustments.
Support messages associated with the family, except where limited retention is needed.
Internal events associated with the account where they can be linked to the family.

4. Data that may be retained temporarily

We may keep limited information if necessary to:

Comply with legal obligations.
Resolve claims.
Prevent fraud or abuse.
Maintain security.
Handle pending support.
Comply with store or payment requirements.

5. Subscriptions

If you have a subscription managed by Apple App Store or Google Play, deleting the Rankids account does not necessarily cancel external billing.

You should review and cancel the subscription from your Apple or Google account unless Rankids expressly provides another flow.

6. Timing

We will try to process requests within a reasonable period after identity verification.

The adult should avoid dangerous, abusive, humiliating, or age-inappropriate tasks.

4. Points have no monetary value

Rankids points are not money, salary, credit, debt, virtual currency, or a financial instrument. They cannot be redeemed for money from Rankids.

Rewards are private family agreements. Rankids does not provide rewards or guarantee that they will be fulfilled.

5. No guarantee of results

Rankids may help organize habits and responsibilities, but does not guarantee:

Better behavior.
Higher motivation.
Task completion.
Better family relationships.
Specific educational outcomes.

6. Not an emergency or monitoring tool

Rankids is not for emergencies, location tracking, surveillance, physical safety, or urgent communication. If a child is at risk, contact emergency services or qualified professionals.
